CD "SUITE CONCERTANTE" for Violin and Symphonic Orchestra

Didier LOCKWOOD (Violin) / Jean-Philippe VANBESELAERE (Composer)

Orchestre Symphonique du Pas-de-Calais / Jean-Robert LAY (Conductor)

Composed especially for Didier Lockwood on the occasion of the birth of the "Pas-de-Calais Symphony Orchestra" in 2009, the "Suite Concertante for Violin and Symphonic Orchestra" consists of 7 movements. Should we see there any relation with all the symbolism related to this prime number ? (7 days of the creation of the Earth, 7 colors of the rainbow, 7 wonders of the world, 7 notes of the diatonic range, or the symbol of life for Egyptians ...) Jean-Philippe Vanbeselaere's above all enjoyed to write music rich in atmospheres, colors and rhythms, such as a patchwork in which the soloist can express his many musical qualities while dialoguing with an orchestra with constantly renewed sounds.
